(CPV) - Lecturers from 18 leading technology universities in Vietnam have participated in a training course on semiconductor IC design under the guidance of international experts to support the development of high-quality human resources and the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.
The program has clearly demonstrated the leading and connecting role of NIC between businesses and universities

In order to develop human resources in the semiconductor industry, on the afternoon of August 22, the National Innovation Center (NIC), the Ministry of Planning and Investment, in collaboration with Siemens EDA and Vietbay Technology Company (Vietbay), SunEdu Company organized the opening Ceremony of the Semiconductor IC Design Lecturer Training Course.

Accordingly, from now until October 2024, lecturers from 18 universities selected in the Project on Human Resource Development for the Semiconductor Industry will participate in a training course on IC design under the guidance of international experts.

Leading technology universities in Vietnam such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology; Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Academy of Cryptography Engineering, will also receive a support package for PCB design software copyright from Siemens to research and develop human resources, serving the semiconductor industry.

After the training course, Vietnam will have more lecturers and experts with comprehensive access to the world's latest technology. They will be able to confidently apply and retrain engineers and students, thereby contributing human resources to the semiconductor industry in Vietnam in particular and the world in general.

At the event, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc emphasized that the semiconductor design lecturer training course is one of the activities to deepen the relationship between "State - School - Enterprise". This contributes to realizing the goal of training thousands of talented personnel in the semiconductor industry. In which, the State plays a creative role, schools play a central role, and businesses play a companion and support role, to improve training quality, meeting market requirements.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Vietnam has identified a priority for strong investment in developing high-quality human resources to develop the semiconductor industry. This is not only an urgent requirement to keep up with global technology trends, but also a proactive and breakthrough step to build Vietnam's position in the value chain of the semiconductor industry.

At the Opening Ceremony of the Semiconductor IC Design Training Course for Lecturers, Siemens EDA Group sponsored 300 sets of software licenses for circuit board design validation (Valor DFM) to the National Innovation Center (NIC) and universities in Vietnam.

Up to now, Siemens EDA has sponsored a total of 1,200 sets of software licenses for NIC and 18 universities (selected to participate in the Project on Human Resource Development for the Semiconductor Industry to 2030, with a vision to 2050 of the Vietnamese Government).

This program has clearly demonstrated NIC's leading and connecting role between businesses and universities. NIC is creating the best conditions, stepping stones, and launching pads for Vietnamese human resources to become more talented, meet the strict requirements of the market, and thereby be confident and ready to conquer the global market. In addition, the program also affirms Siemens EDA's commitment to accompany the Vietnamese Government in developing human resources for the semiconductor industry./.
