Prime Minister to hold dialogue with workers and labourers

Cabinet leader Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed with a dialogue with workers and laborers from northern localities which will focus on increasing working productivity and workers’ welfare.

The information was announced during a meeting on trade union work and labourers in the first quarter of this year, held on April 12th.

During the meeting, Tran Duy Phuong, Head of the Commission on Popularization and Education of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), said that May would witness a series of events relating to workers’ movements and laborers; notably the Prime Minister’s direct dialogue with workers and laborers in the Red River Delta, covering the subject “Higher working productivity, better welfare”.

Additionally, the Vietnamese Trade Unions will hold the workers’ month of the year and the work safety month highlighting the prevention and control of dangerous and hazardous factors to restrict working accidents and occupational diseases. Meanwhile, provinces, cities, central agencies and corporations under the VGCL will also organise their trade union congresses.

According to Tran Van Thuat, VGCL Vice President, the dialogue between the Prime Minister and some 800 workers will take place in Ha Nam province on May 5th./.
