On November 11th, Vietnamese President's Spouse Madam Nguyen Thi Hien hosted the spouses of APEC Economic Leaders during the 25th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting.
The event drew the participation of Spouses of Heads of Delegations of seven economies, including Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Singapore and Thailand, spouses of Ministers and Heads of representative offices of APEC economies in Vietnam.

After being received at Song Hoai Square, Hoi An City, spouses visited old town Hoi An, a cultural heritage of Vietnam, recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site. They also visited Hoi An Silk Village, a famous traditional handicraft village and a microcosm of peaceful Vietnamese village.
The visit to Hoi An was held by Quang Nam province in coordination with APEC 2017 National Committee to introduce Vietnamese land, people, history and culture, including Hoi An ancient city.

The highlight of the programme was a performance of Vietnamese traditional Ao dai in the past and at present. The history of the traditional clothes were also introduced.
Later, Madam Nguyen Thi Hien hosted a reception at the Naman Retreat Resort Da Nang, where they enjoyed Vietnamese delicacies and cultural performances.
All the spouses were impressed by the warm welcome of Madam Hien and the hospitality of people in Hoi Anh city, Quang Nam province and Da Nang city in particular and Vietnamese people in general. They expressed their hope to return Vietnam soon./.
