Beautiful moments on gender equality

Nearly 20 photos selected from thousands entered in the contest “Vietnamese equal families” are now on display to contribute to affecting social awareness on gender equality.

The contest aims to acknowledge and emphasize the importance of shared responsibility for family and domestic life, with the ambition to increase gender equality in Vietnamese society.

The exhibition is being held by the Embassy of Sweden in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnamese Women’s Museum to commemorate the Vietnamese Family Day on June 28th.

Following are several photos at the exhibition:

Visitors to the exhibition can view significant stories of daily life through photos, contributing to a more equal society.


The photo “Sharing work” by Huy Thong from Hanoi recorded the image of husband and wife
 in the central province of Quang Binh. It also won the first prize at the contest.


Photo by Tran Phuc Thach from the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai seized the second prize of the contest, 
recording rice harvesting in a field of the Mong ethnic minority group in Sa Pa.

Photo by Nguyen Khoa Huy won the third prize of the contest

With happiness in the eye, a face radiant with smiles of the mother and the father showed true feelings of the family.
This is also the reason photographer Nguyen Manh Tuan from Ho Chi Minh city selected black and white photo to
show simple beauty in the work “Happy family”.

The exhibition will run until July 31st at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, at No.36 Ly Thuong Kiet, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi/.
