China Southern Airlines will launch a direct route from Shanghai to Ho Chi Minh (HCM) city, using Airbus A32s, from October 30th, said the carrier’s representative office in a recent meeting.

The daily flights will take off from Shanghai at 8:15 and arrive in Tan Son Nhat Airport at 12:00 (local time), while the returns will depart at 12:55 and land at 18:00 of the same day (local time).

The carrier will also increase the flight frequency on the route between Ho Chi Minh City and the Chinese port city of Shenzhen, to daily from the current three flights per week, from October 30th.

Specifically, flights from Shenzhen will take off at 12:10 and arrive in HCM city at 13:30 (local time), and the returns will depart at 14:30 and arrive at 17:30 (local time).

With the expectation of offering more convenient service for those travelling to Guangzhou to shop, the flight frequency on the Hanoi-Guangzhou route will be increased to three flights a day, also starting from October 30th.

Currently, China Southern Airlines has 700 aircraft and expects to increase its fleet to 1,000 units by 2020 with a total of 613 international and domestic flight routes./.
