Da Nang plans to open a series of international air routes in second half

Many direct international air routes connecting Da Nang with Kaohsiung (Taiwan-China), Jakarta (Indonesia), Busan (the Republic of Korea), and Hangzhou (China) are scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2019.

Specifically, the Da Nang – Kaohsiung route will be operated by Jetstar Pacific from August 10th with three flights a week while Bamboo Airways plans to open the Da Nang – Taipei (China) route from August 16th with three flights a week.

Currently, Sriwijaya Air, the third biggest air carrier of Indonesia, is waiting for license of flight hours from the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam to launch the direct air route from Jakarta to Da Nang from October 28th.

Vietnam Airlines will operate the Da Nang – Busan route from July 20th with two flights a week while the Da Nang – Hangzhou route of Jetstar Pacific is expected to start operation in the fourth quarter of the year.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, in 2018, the central coastal city had 23 direct air routes, including 15 regular routes and 8 charter ones with 328 flights a week.

The new international route which was launched in the first half of the year is Da Nang – Chiang Mai of Air Asia, operated from April 12th with 7 flights a week./.
