Free tours to be offered to Vesak delegates

The organizers of the United Nations (UN) Day of Vesak 2019 will arranged many free tours for international delegates to promote the image and people of Vietnam, as well as its tourism development potential.

Specifically, there will be three free tours, including Trang An – Bai Dinh in the northern province of Ninh Binh, Yen Tu in Quang Ninh province and Fansipan – Sapa in Lao Cai. In addition, the organizers will arrange paid tours required by international delegates with destinations being Hanoi and Ha Long.

On this occasion, many travel companies have opened pilgrimage tours to Tam Chuc and neighboring provinces for Buddhists and visitors. In particular, Vietravel was entrusted by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to prepare logistics for the great festival.

During the event, the company will undertake promotional activities and regulate transportation, accommodation, and air ticket services.

According the organizers, there will be about 40,000 lunch boxes and free drinking water to serve Buddhists and visitors every day during the event.

The UN Day of Vesak 2019 is scheduled to take place in Tam Chuc agoda, Kim Bang district, in the northern province of Ha Nam from May 12th-14th

Themed “Buddhist Approach to Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Sustainable Societies”, the event is expected to attract the participation of 112 countries and territories with 570 international delegations and more than 1,600 religious dignitaries, researchers, scientists and managers.

This will be the third time the UN’s commemoration of Vesak is held in Vietnam. Previously, it took place in Hanoi in 2008 and Ninh Binh in 2014./.
