Nine months: Over 1.2 million Chinese tourists to Nha Trang

Nha Trang city in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa greeted more than 5.03 million tourists in the first 9 months of 2018, up over 116% from the same period last year, according the provincial Department of Tourism.

Of this, foreign tourists reached nearly 2.2 million, up 142%, while domestic tourist arrivals were over 2.88 million, up over 102%. Currently, Chinese and Russian markets are sending the most tourists to the city, with more than 1.2 million (up over 157%) and 297,000 (up 101%), respectively.  

Chinese tourists to Nha Trang arrive mainly via Cam Ranh International Airport. Currently, there are about 25 daily flights from China to Cam Ranh with thousands of passengers.  

According to the provincial People’s Committee, the increasing number of foreigners to Nha Trang facilitated socio-economic development and made significant contribution to the state budget. In addition, local people earn high income and have better life from tourism business.

Together with the establishment of direct flights from countries and territories to Nha Trang and the expansion of visa-free policies; intensifying tourism promotion overseas will help foreign tourist arrivals to the locality grow stably and have suitable structure./.
