Sa Pa becomes national tourist area

Sa Pa in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai has been recognized as a national tourist area by the government leader.

Sa Pa is a favorite hot spot of foreigners when they visit Vietnam

He assigned the Lao Cai People’s Committee to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related ministries and branches to announce the recognition, in order to promote the image, promote investment and attract tourists to the national tourist area.

According to the latest selection of prestigious international organizations, Sa Pa is one of the 10 most attractive tourist areas in Southeast Asia, one of the 50 most beautiful landscapes in Asia, and one of the Top 8 destinations in Vietnam.

Sa Pa town was shaped in the beginning of the 20th century with advantages in geography, natural scenery and well-known tourist sites such as Fansipan Peak, Stone Church, Ham Rong Mountain, Cat Cat Village and Silver Falls (Thac Bac).

From the start of the year to November 2017, it greeted about 1.46 million tourist arrivals, in which 30% are foreigners. It is expected to receive more than two million tourists in 2017./.
