The event has taken place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.

The program discusses reading style, self-study methods and reading culture in the current context. Many issues are raised such as: Reading books coupled with practical application; Reading requires thinking and      comparing, not stereotyping; The longevity of traditional books in modern society.

At the talk, speaker Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Van Quyet said that knowledge at schools is sometimes not enough, it is a one-way source of knowledge. To understand systematically and scientifically, each person needs to read more magazines and books. This is an important source of information to help update news and learn      different views and perspectives. Reading magazines and books improves self-study ability and teaches problem-solving thinking.

Accordingly, students should not read and forget immediately, but should use the information shared in books and newspapers to apply to their essays. Students should consider books as a guide, a friend to research and seek knowledge. Students should have sharp thinking and filter information when reading. That is the method of applying President Ho Chi Minh's reading style effectively.

“Only when the knowledge is applied into practice will the book be fully effective. If we read hundreds of books but don't know how to apply them, it's just a mobile book box,” said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Van Quyet.

From the general evidence of President Ho Chi Minh's works that are considered national treasures such as Duong Kach Menh, Prison Diary, Call to the Nation for Resistance, Call to Compatriots and Soldiers of the Nation, and Will of President Ho Chi Minh, speaker Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Van Quyet said that Uncle Ho's greatest inheritance is the collection of 2,000 articles and books./.
