Performances of classical Indian dances in central Phu Yen province

On December 6, performances of classical Indian dances by artists and classical Indian were held in Tuy Hoa city in the south-central province of Phu Yen to celebrate the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and India.

The event featured participants of artists from Phu Yen’s Sao Bien Folk Music and Dance Theatre and Indian Dance Group.

The Vietnamese artists brought to the stage a selection of performances hailing the land and people of Vietnam and Phu Yen Province in particular, while those by Indian artists introduced the audience to traditional Indian culture.

The event was part of the show series co-hosted by the Indian Embassy and the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman of the Phu Yen Provincial People’s Committee Ho Thi Nguyen Thao briefed the participants on the outcomes of cooperation between Phu Yen and Indian partners.

Present at the event, Indian Ambassador Sandeep Arya, said the programme contributed to consolidating and enhancing the traditional relations between the two countries, and promoting the effective cooperation between Phu Yen and Indian partners.

Earlier, the Indian repertoire group performed in Hanoi. Apart from the capital city and Phu Yen, they have come to Binh Dinh, Ninh Thuan and Tay Ninh through December 9./
