(CPV) - RCEP agreement negotiation comes to final round, three air carriers cooperate to promote Vietnam’s tourism, and festival promotes Korean culture and tourism to Vietnamese tourists are the hot news of September 24th.

On September 23rd, under the hosting of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, the 28th meeting of the trade negotiating committee for the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) opened in Da Nang.

This is the last official negotiation round this year, with the aim to handle the remaining issues and conclude the negotiation of the trade deal under the direction of leaders of the 16 RCEP countries.

RCEP agreement is expected to create the world’s largest free trade area with the development of value chains in the region and around the globe.

RCEP is scheduled to establish the world’s largest free trade area, including 47.4% of the world’s population, 30% of the world’s GDP, 29.1% of the world’s trade value, and 32.5% of global investment flow.

In his speech at the meeting, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh hailed the efforts of the head of delegations and negotiators of 16 countries who have made remarkable progress in negotiations, especially from the start of 2019.

“As the host of the negotiation and the ASEAN Chair in 2020, Vietnam will try its best and coordinate with all countries to strive to achieve this goal, as well as towards the goal of signing RCEP agreement in 2020,” he said.

So far, negotiations on RCEP have completed many chapters such as economic cooperation, small and medium-sized enterprises, customs procedures and trade facilitation, government procurement, and others

Three air carriers cooperate to promote Vietnam’s tourism

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has signed a comprehensive cooperative deal with Korean Air (the Republic of Korea) and China Airlines (Taiwan-China) in order boost Vietnam’s tourism promotion and enhance intensive cooperation in various fields.

The program will optimize benefits, incentives and the quality of services for passengers of the three airlines. The strengthening of cooperation with major air carriers also creates favorable conditions for Vietnam Airlines to improve competitiveness in the international market.

According to cooperative contents, the three carriers will focus on associating to promote trade and tourism in the Republic of Korea and Taiwan (China), join a common booth at major events, and introduce Vietnam’s famous sea tourism destinations such as Ha Long, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc, thereby attracting tourists from the Republic of Korea and Taiwan to explore the beauty of Vietnam. 

The three sides are committed to coordinating in sale programs, and expanding joint venture cooperation on routes connecting Vietnam with the RoK and Taiwan (China), routes from Vietnam to the US and Canada transiting in Taiwan (China) and vice versa.

Exhibition promotes Korean culture and tourism to Vietnamese tourists

2019 Korea Tourism and Cultural Exhibition will take place on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, Ho Chi Minh city on September 28th-29th to promote Korean culture and tourism to markets in the south of the Republic of Korea (RoK), especially the markets with a high annual growth of tourists like Vietnam.

The event will be held by the Korea Tourism Organization to mark the 30th anniversary of RoK - ASEAN cooperation and the success of the similar event held for the first time in Hanoi in 2017.

The fascinating beauty of Korean culture and tourism will be introduced to one of the most dynamic cities and the leading economy in Vietnam.

Korean enterprises as well as leading Vietnamese travel agencies such as Vietravel, Saigontourist, Ben Thanh Tourism and Transviet will participate in the exhibition with 30 pavilions.

Visitors can enjoy diverse activities like putting on Korean traditional clothes, making decorative things and quizzes./.
