Hai Duong is now home to around 200 ha of dragon fruits, which are mostly grown in Kinh Mon township and Chi Linh city. Recently, Hai Duong dragon fruit has officially been granted cultivation zone codes for export to Australia.

According to the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Authority of Crop Production and Plant Protection, the tested samples showed that dragon fruit did not have any pesticide residues.

Therefore, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Plant Protection Department agreed to issue three cultivation zone codes to 30ha of Dai Uyen dragon fruits in Bach Dang commune in Kinh Mon township for export to the US, Australia and China.

The Plant Protection Department will send notifications to the authority after the General Administration of Customs of China and the US Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service have approved cultivation zone codes.

Over the past time, the Hai Duong Authority of Crop Production and Plant Protection has connected with fruit exporting enterprises and guided related procedures to export dragon fruit.

Hai Duong dragon fruit is harvested from July to November every year and harvested in batches.

Chi Linh city has about 170 ha of dragon fruit, concentrated in Hoang Hoa Tham, Bac An and Hoang Tien wards./.
