Political report at the 17th Hanoi City Party Congress, term 2020-2025, emphasized that culture is the spiritual foundation, soft power and the center of the policy of the capital’s sustainable development.
Efficient exploitation of these resources and strengths is one of the tasks and solutions set by the City Party Committee, term 2020-2025, to promote the cultural values and people of Hanoi.
Evaluating outstanding results in the task of cultural development, building elegant and civilized Hanoians in the 2015-2020 term, the 17th City Party Congress realized that caring for people and building elegant and civilized Hanoians has positive changes. Traditional cultural values of the thousand year culture have been preserved and promoted. Many cultural indicators continue to lead the country.
In the new term, the 17th City Party Congress approved resolutions on five major orientations, key tasks, and 3 breakthroughs. In particular, the city will focus on developing the culture and people of Hanoi on the basis of promoting the tradition of Thang Long - Dong Do - Hanoi with thousands of years of culture and heroism, City for Peace, Creative City; absorb the cultural essence of humanity, build Hanoi people to be elegant, civilized, comprehensively developed with human values and patriotism, deep love for Hanoi, forming Hanoi culture and people into a great spiritual value, an important resource for the capital’s development.
It can be seen that the tasks of the City Party Committee, term 2020-2025, are clearly identified, thereby confirming the vision and strategic thinking for development and promoting value of culture and people of Hanoi in the new period. From the above orientations, many cultural indicators have also been raised compared to the previous term, such as: 75% of the population groups, 65% of villages are recognized and maintained cultural titles (these rates for the term 2015-2020, respectively 72% and 62%).
Determined to perform well the tasks and solutions in the new term, the contents of the cultural and human development of Hanoi in the Resolution of the 17th City Party Congress will be concretized at Program 06-CTr/TU of Thanh Hanoi Party Committee on "Developing culture, improving the quality of human resources, building an elegant and civilized Hanoi in the 2021-2025 period"./.
