He made the statement during his working meeting with a delegation of businesses coming from Kochi prefecture led by Hiroshige Takano, President of Board of Directors of the Kochi-Marutaka Bride Construction Company, on April 18
th.
According to Chairman Quy, Nghe An province has 83 valid FDI projects with the registered capital of over USD2.1 billion.
Regarding the cooperation between Nghe An province and Japan, he said that the province had set up relationship with Gifu prefecture in agriculture, tourism, education and training, investment, cultural exchanges and sports. In FDI cooperation, Nghe An province is carrying out 7 Japan-invested projects with USD72.56 million in limestone, food and textile and garment. Additionally, So far Japan has funded VND6.2 trillion in 44 ODA projects.
In 2018, Nghe An exported USD22 million to Japan in textile and garment, stone, handicraft, agricultural and fishery products.
Each year, there is an increase in the number of Nghe An province’s students to Japan, while some 3,000-4,000 laborers are currently working in Japan.
During the meeting, Mr. Horishige Takano and the delegation members expressed their hope to work with Nghe An province in building the infrastructure and equipping the building of seaports; and setting up cooperation and investment in the province in agriculture, industry, construction and education.
Noting that Nghe An province is calling investment from Japanese investors in clean agriculture, medicine and processing of agricultural products, Mr. Quy said he hoped Kochi prefecture’s businesses would invest and transfer technologies in clean agricultural production.
He added that Nghe An province also cared for investment in hi-tech industry, support industry, trade, education and training, as well as cultural exchanges./.
