Ho Chi Minh City and New Zealand promote cooperation in trade, tourism and cultural exchange

He made the statement on August 9 during his reception for the new New Zealand Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City, Scott James.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai thanked the new Consul General Scott James for sharing his cooperation plan with Ho Chi Minh City in the near future; and committed to work together with the Consulate General of New Zealand to promote cooperation in trade, tourism and cultural exchange. In addition, he expressed his wish to welcome many New Zealand business delegations to visit Ho Chi Minh City to explore investment opportunities, adding that the two sides still have a lot of potential for cooperation in areas where New Zealand has strengths such as the digital economy, green transformation, education, health care, and transportation.

New Zealand Consul General Scott James thanked the Ho Chi Minh City authority for creating favorable conditions for the Consulate General of New Zealand in the past time, and looked forward to continuing to receive support in the future. He also said New Zealand wishes to strengthen cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City in education, trade and tourism.

Informing that a number of New Zealand delegations will come to Vietnam to promote cooperation projects in tourism and aviation, he added that New Zealand is also planning to open a direct route between the two countries. With his responsibility, he pledged to work together with the Consulate General of New Zealand to help and connect Ho Chi Minh City and New Zealand businesses./.
