Ho Chi Minh City strengthens cooperation in human resource training with Finnish city

During the visit to Tampere, Finland, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Tampere Mayor Kalervo Kummola.

At the meeting, Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Le expressed that Ho Chi Minh City and Tampere have recently engaged in positive delegation exchanges, reflecting the good relationship between the two cities. She expressed the desire to further promote cooperation, particularly in areas such as human resource training, industrial transformation, and research and development of new products or services.

Providing more information about Ho Chi Minh City, she shared that the city is focused on developing into a smart city and advancing digital transformation. “Ho Chi Minh City is working on many strategic plans for comprehensive economic development and management,” she said.

She emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City can exchange and cooperate with Tampere in many fields, especially since Tampere is a center of science, technology and innovation, as well as a hub for major transportation routes.

"Ho Chi Minh City wishes to learn from Tampere’s experience in refining its policies during its development process and making the most of the current mechanisms and policies," stressed Ms. Le.

Noting that in the near future, Ho Chi Minh City will collaborate with the World Economic Forum to establish the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center to promote the development and application of science, technology, and innovation, Ms. Le expressed the hope that Tampere would support Ho Chi Minh City in sharing development experiences, human resource training and cultural exchanges, particularly in fostering connections between the business communities of both sides to achieve common cooperation goals.

Additionally, she called for enhancing the connection between the two cities to finalize the Memorandum of Understanding for establishing a relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Tampere and to implement specific cooperation activities.

She affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City's government is ready and eager to strengthen the relationship with Finland and Tampere, contributing to deepening bilateral ties.

Tampere Mayor Kalervo Kummola agreed with Ms. Le's proposals and confirmed that he would strongly promote cooperation between the two cities, particularly in areas where Tampere has strengths./.
