Ho Chi Minh City strives to realize high-level agreements between Vietnam and Laos

During the meeting, Nguyen Van Nen congratulated the Lao Party, State and people on their significant achievements across various fields in recent times. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, headed by Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, Laos and its people will continue to achieve new successes.

He affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City always strives to implement high-level agreements between the leaders of the two Parties and countries, fostering stronger cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general, and between Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities in particular. This includes collaboration in areas such as trade, tourism, investment, agriculture, human resource training and cultural exchanges.

Lao Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his pleasure in visiting Ho Chi Minh City and congratulated the city on its significant socio-economic development achievements, especially in economic growth, ensuring social welfare, and improving the income and living standards of its people.

He emphasized that the Lao Party and State place the highest priority on strengthening and enhancing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam. He expressed his pleasure and appreciation for the friendly relations and cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities, particularly with the capital city of Vientiane.

He added he hoped that Ho Chi Minh City would continue to strengthen and promote cooperation with Lao ministries, sectors and localities, providing support and assistance to Lao provinces. He also called for close coordination between Lao ministries and sectors with Ho Chi Minh City to effectively implement high-level agreements between the leaders of the two Parties and countries, fostering substantial cooperation in various fields. “This would contribute positively to the overall success of the relationship between the two Parties, States and peoples of Vietnam and Laos,” he went on to say./.
