The Summit was attended by representatives of media agencies from 6 countries in the Lancang - Mekong region, including China, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and Thailand. This was the fourth Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Media Summit since 2017.
The Vietnamese delegation attended the Summit with representatives of diverse media agencies, including Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency, the Voice of Vietnam, the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper, and the Television of the National Assembly of Vietnam.

Speaking at the Summit, Li Shulei, a member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party, a Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, emphasized the important role of the Lancang-Mekong cooperation mechanism in promoting the development of regional countries; affirmed that communications is an important channel contributing to promoting regional cooperation; and expressed his hope that the media would continue to promote its role in promoting Lancang-Mekong cooperation.
Mr. Tuo Zhen, Editor-in-Chief of China's People's Daily - the organizer of the Summit, said that Lancang - Mekong cooperation in the past 7 years has been expanding, with increasing results of cooperation. He highly appreciated the role and contribution of regional media to Lancang - Mekong cooperation, bringing many benefits to the peoples of the countries. He affirmed that in this process, the media shouldered a very important role and mission.

Delegates at the Summit agreed that in promoting people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, the press-media plays an important role, contributing to introducing, disseminating and promoting widely to the people about the friendly relations of countries in the region, the beauty of the countries, the people and the socio-economic development of each country. Strong communication cooperation will contribute to promoting the development of Lancang - Mekong countries.
They exchanged views on strengthening communication cooperation between Lancang and Mekong countries to promote the development of the region, and sought measures for effective public access while promoting the role of the media in shaping society and promoting mutual trust and understanding.
They also said that the Lancang - Mekong cooperation mechanism plays a key role and creates positive impacts on cultural exchange, human resource development and economic connectivity in the region, thereby bringing about better living conditions for the people, and promoting the development of countries in the region./.
