The information was released by the Vietnamese Consulate General in Fukuoka.

Ariake shipyard has 245 Vietnamese trainees. The 47 trainees infected with SARS-CoV-2 virus are isolated at Ariake healthcare station.

According to the Consulate General, some other trainees who tested negative for the virus have started to show symptoms such as a fever and shortness of breath.

Nguyen Xuan Hai, leader of the Vietnamese trainee group, said the group of trainees has received encouragement and advice from the Consulate General and the Vietnamese Embassy, and those infected are provided sufficient meals and other essential items from Ariake shipyard.

He also said that due to the large number of Vietnamese people infected with COVID-19, they are very worried because the health situation in the locality is overloaded because of the number of COVID-19 cases. The operation of the shipyard is stagnated, as the result, their incomes are reduced dramatically, directly impacting their daily lives.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Fukuoka are closely monitoring the situation, taking citizen protection measures and working with the local medical agency to provide treatment for infected cases./.
