The Alumni Association in foreign countries is an extended arm that allows SIM to better support its alumni on their learning journey and continuously improve their skills throughout their careers.
Established in 1964, SIM enrolls about 16,000 students each year, of which international students are about 30%.
Mr. Gerald Lum, Director of Brand, Marketing & Communications of SIM, said that Vietnamese students account for 15% of the total number of students from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam studying at SIM.
More than 1,400 Vietnamese students have graduated from SIM training programs. Mr. Gerala affirmed that SIM will create conditions for all its students and alumni to freely access micro-certification courses from October 2024 to March 2025.
“Courses help equip you with job-ready skills, essential core skills to improve work performance, and the most advanced digital modules. When completing the course, students will be issued a digital certificate, making their resume more attractive to employers," he said.
Sharing at the launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Chairman of SIM Alumni Association in Hanoi, said that although he graduated from SIM and returned to Vietnam to work for more than 10 years, he appreciates the knowledge and the equipment that he was trained on at institute.
Mr. Hoang Giang hopes that the establishment of the association will help connect many alumni, as well as organize many activities to help students who are studying and will study at SIM in the near future.
