The final round of the football tournament of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic in 2022 took place at the Hrazanska stadium in Prague on August 28.

This is one of the annual traditional sports tournaments organized by the Overseas Vietnamese Association and the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic. This year's event is even more meaningful as the tournament is held after 2 years of suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Thai Xuan Dung praised and highly appreciated the sportsmanship, solidarity and integration of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic. He also believed that, with such youth and internal strength, the community will integrate more deeply and sustainably into the host country as well as make practical contributions to the economic, cultural and sports life of the host country as well as towards the homeland.
Representative of the community, Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhien, said that the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic is an ethnic group that lives responsibly in the Czech society and shows itself as an exemplary people recognized by the Czech government. Over the past years, the community has shown its internal strength in life, business, study and especially in connecting activities such as sports, culture and arts.
The tournament had the participation of four teams representing 4 regions across the Czech Republic. The team with the most points would become the champion of 2022 and will represent the Vietnamese Community in the Czech Republic to participate in the Czech Senate football tournament 2023.
After six matches, the organizing board awarded medals and championship cups to FC Sapa-Praha team.
The tournament continued to affirm that it is an indispensable social event for the overseas Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and a useful playground to help connect the Vietnamese community throughout the Czech Republic./.
