Overseas Vietnamese in Australia connect friends to donate 12 tons of rice for Ho Chi Minh City

Mr. Justin Bui, an overseas Vietnamese in Australia, connected and mobilized donors to donate 12 tons of rice to units in Ho Chi Minh City through the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in the city.

Overseas Vietnamese in Australia actively support COVID-19 fight at home

In this donation, Mr. Justin Bui, President of Realms Company and Real Estate Investment and Financial Fund, connected Mr. Matt Young, Director General of GSA Vietnam Group, to donate 5 tons of rice to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thu Duc city.

He also connected Mr. Luu Ngoc Duc and his wife, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Ngan, overseas Vietnamese in the US, to support the Thu Duc city People's Committee with 2 tons of rice, and a humanitarian group in Binh Trung Dong Ward of Thu Duc city one ton of rice.

In addition, Mr. Justin Bui and a group of friends, including Yusuke Gunji, Do Vu, Nguyen Huy Quang, Nguyen Mai Dung and Pham Thanh Tai in Japan, the US and Australia donated 4 tons of rice to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of District 8.

"The past two years for my family have been relatively long because I could not fly back to Australia to visit my parents. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, flights from Vietnam to other countries have been temporarily suspended. My family has accepted to send nostalgia and love to my parents through phone calls,” Mr. Justin Bui said.

“The city is facing the current difficult situation, and I have called on my friends from all over the world to look towards the homeland by doing the smallest things. I hope the bags of rice can ease people’s difficulties and hope to be able to return to a happy and safe life as before," he added.

According to the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City, previously, Mr. Justin Bui donated 20 million VND to the COVID-19 vaccine fund of Ho Chi Minh City.

He also presented 10,000 N95 masks to the Thu Duc City Police force to support officers and soldiers who are preventing and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic in isolation, blockade areas and field hospitals in the city.

"This is my first time I have participated in volunteer activities in the city, I am very grateful to my friend Justin Bui for introducing me to the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City and informing me about these meaningful activities,” said Mr. Luu Ngoc Duc, an overseas Vietnamese in the US.

“In the coming time, I will inform my friends in the US and participate in more activities to support people in difficulty during the COVID-19 pandemic in Ho Chi Minh City," he added.

During this 4th outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the overseas Vietnamese community has offered active support in many forms, both materially and spiritually, to help Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country quickly overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, returned to a peaceful life in the new normal./.
