Overseas Vietnamese delegates will attend the working group 'Overseas Vietnamese journey to the homeland's sea and islands' to visit officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 5 in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province from June 25-29.

The trip is attended by 40 delegates, who represent intellectuals, businessmen, charity cultural and social organizations, typical overseas Vietnamese associations and the Board of Directors.

Ms. Vu Thi Huynh Mai, Chairwoman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City, informed delegates of the detailed plan of the 5-day itinerary with various meaningful activities.

The delegation will offer flowers and incense to the monument and memorial house for President Ho Chi Minh, visiting the Martyrs' Monument at Phu Quoc Prison, visiting officers and soldiers and presenting works to Brigade 127, Regiment 551, Battalion 563, radar station 620 and visit the Navy ship.

In addition, the delegates also participate in performing gratitude work, visiting, encouraging, and giving meaningful gifts to former political prisoners, and taking care of soldiers' children (nursery in the Naval Region 5) of the Naval Region 5 High Command.

Funding for the charity work of the trip is mobilized by the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City and donated by overseas Vietnamese delegates./.
