Speaking at the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang stated that the Vietnamese Revolutionary press is closely associated with the cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people. Over the past 98 years, the Vietnamese Revolutionary press has made great contributions to the cause of national liberation struggle, as well as to the renovation, construction and development of the country.
According to the Ambassador, over the past years, reporters and journalists in Cambodia have made important and effective contributions to reporting on the situation of the host country, as well as communicating about the good relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.
He highly appreciated the efforts and contributions of Vietnamese press agencies in Cambodia.
Mr. Tang emphasized that in the process of working, Vietnamese reporters in Cambodia always promote the role of journalists as well as the spirit of community, responsibility and solidarity, cooperating and coordinating with the domestic press to timely report and ensure the right orientation.
The Ambassador expressed his hope that in the coming time, Vietnamese press agencies in Cambodia will continue to promote their roles, working closely with the Embassy and agencies beside the Embassy to always provide positive and objective information, contributing to strengthening the good relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia, as well as countering wrong and negative viewpoints that affect the relations between the two countries.
In addition, the diplomat noted that Vietnamese reporters in Cambodia need to use their pen to objectively and timely reflect "hot" issues in the area, without causing panic for people in Vietnam, but still reflecting the reality of the situation, and coordinate with the domestic press to warn and raise people's awareness and help them avoid the trap of bad elements.
On the occasion of the 98th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, Ambassador Tang congratulated the journalists and correspondents of Vietnamese press agencies in Cambodia, and wished their families good health, success in work, and happiness in life, contributing together with the Embassy to fulfilling the responsibilities assigned by the Party and State.
In Cambodia, there are four Vietnamese press agencies with representative offices, including Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television Station, Radio the Voice of Vietnam and Nhan Dan newspaper./.
