Over 47,000 kilometres of rural roads built in 5 years

According to the Ministry of Transport, over the past 5 years, the building and management of the rural traffic system across the country has gained positive results, together with the implementation of the program on building new style rural areas.

Accordingly, the length of current rural roads totals over 492,000 kilometres, an increase of 217,433 kilometres, of which, over 47,000 kilometres of rural roads, over 61,000 kilometres of village, and 15,474 bridges have been built.
The past 5 years have also seen a mobilization of VND186.194 trillion in building rural roads, an increase of VND84.418 trillion compared to the previous 10-year period.
In the northern province of Quang Ninh, over VND2.8 trillion has been collected for building the rural traffic system, including over VND144 billion from people. Thanks to the capital, over 1,200 kilometres of roads and 29 bridges have been built./.
