According to the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first six months of the year, complex development of disease within fisheries has been reported, particularly in shrimp farms in Mong Cai, Cam Pha and Uong Bi cities; Hai Ha, Dam Ha and Tien Yen districts; and Quang Yen town. The disease has killed shrimp in 598 hectares of farms run by 793 families.
To prevent the diseases, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has regularly sent delegations to localities and production foundations to carry out preventive measures.
As of late June, localities used over 51 tons of chemicals to deal with disease outbreaks./.
