The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Standing Committee and the Vietnam Students’ Association in the northern province of Quang Ninh on August 22nd inaugurated a national flag pole after 5 months of construction.
The pole was built in celebration of the 84th year of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
It also holds great significance in raising the responsibility over protecting the sea and island sovereignty among young people across the country in general and those in Quang Ninh province in particular.
The pole which is 22.6 metres high was built beside the navy radar station 480, the highest point on Tran island with a capital of nearly VND2 billion. The construction includes the pole body, stairs and surrounding campus with the foundation buried deeply under a stone layer which is often used in building firm lighthouses./.
