In the 11 months, tourists from Asia still occupied the highest rate with 77.8% of the total number, reaching nearly 11 million, a year-on-year rise of 25.3%.
Of this, Chinese tourists made the biggest proportion with 4.5 million, up 26.9%. Although the Republic of Korea ranked the second with 3.1 million, the market gained the highest growth with 46.5% compared to the same period last year. Japan placed the third with 756,000, up 3.7%.
The following markets are Taiwan-China 649,700, up 15.6%; Malaysia 474,800, up 13.4%; Thailand 306,700, up 14.3%; and Singapore 248,600, up 3.7%.
The number of holiday-makers from Europe increased by 8.7 percent year on year; estimated at 1.8 million. Of this, major markets saw sharp growth such as Russia 6.8%, the UK 5.2%, France 9.9%, Germany 6.8%, Spain 12.9%, the Netherlands 7.4% and Italy 13.1%.
The tourist markets of America, Australia and Oceania had growth of 11.4%, 4.9%, and 19.7% respectively year on year.
