(CPV) – Tourists to the capital Hanoi numbered nearly 1.2 million in July 2020, a 51.2% rise from the previous month, according to the city Department of Tourism.

Of this number, foreign tourists reached an estimated 16,600, a 26.9% increase compared to June, with the majority of them being officials, diplomats and workers.
Domestic tourists were 1.18 million, up 51.6%; including 437,000 tourists staying overnight. Total tourism turnover was estimated at VND3.47 trillion, up 50.2%.
For the first 7 months of the year, the capital greeted 6.13 million tourists, a year-on-year decrease of 63.3%, of which foreign tourists were more than 1 million. Total revenue from tourists reached an estimated VND22.42 trillion.
In the near future, the city tourism industry continues to carry out plans to stimulate demand of domestic tourists; improve the quality of destinations; apply science technology to developing smart tourism; and ensure a safe, friendly and civilized tourism environment.
At the same time, Hanoi focuses on developing new and characteristic products to further develop tourism of the capital./.
