Introducing Nguyen dynasty's woodblocks to international friends

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has assigned the Ministries of Home Affairs; Culture, Sports and Tourism; Foreign Affairs; and Information and Communications to prepare for exhibitions to introduce the values of the Nguyen dynasty’s woodblocks to international friends.

The Deputy Prime Minster has had a worked session with the National Archives Centre IV in Da Lat city, the Central Highland province of Lam Dong.

At the working session, he praised center for its efforts in preserving the Nguyen dynasty's woodblocks, which were recogised by UNESCO as a Memory of the World.

He stressed that the Government always attaches great care to safeguarding and promoting the treasured Vietnamese heritages which have been handed down by our ancestors. The government has developed a number of policies and documents directing ministries and sectors to take measures in order to preserve and uphold the heritage’s values, such as the master plan on preserving the Nguyen Dynasty wood blocks.

On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister also visited the storehouse that is keeping the original woodblocks and the exhibition “Vietnam’s Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos - Historical and legal evidence” at the center./
