Investing in three transport projects in southern hub

The Prime Minister (PM) has agreed to give supplementation to Ho Chi Minh city transport development scheme by 2020, with a vision after 2020.

Specifically, the PM consented to replace Cat Lai ferry-boat with a 4.5 kilometers new bridge connecting District 2 and Nhon Trach district in Dong Nai province. The project will be realized from 2017 to 2020, and will have six vehicle lanes and two mixed lanes, with recommended speed of 80 kilometers a hour.

In addition, the Government leader also approved the supplementation of Can Gio bridge crossing over Soai Rap river (linking Nha Be and Can Gio districts) to replace Binh Khanh ferry-boat. The 7.3 kilometers construction with four vehicle lanes and two mixed lanes will be built from 2017 to 2020.

During the 2017-2020 period, the city is scheduled to form a parallel road with Highway 50 from Nha Be district to Can Giuoc district in Long An province, with a total length of 8.6 kilometers. It will have six vehicle lanes and recommended speed of 80 kilometers a hour.

He asked the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee to update the above projects with the relating schemes, and invest in accordance with legal regulations./.
