Over VND1.4 quadrillion added to the economy in five months

Vietnam had 11,027 newly-established enterprises in May with a total registered capital of VND104.8 trillion, down 24% in number of enterprises and 21.5% in capital from the previous month, according to the General Statistics Office.

Average registered capital per enterprise reached VND9.5 billion, up 3.3%.

This month, the country saw 2,306 enterprises recovering operation, down 29.7%; 6,855 enterprises halting operation, up 11.7% and 834 enterprises completing dissolution procedures, down 39.5%.

Totaling the first five months of 2018, the country witnessed 52,322 enterprises registering for establishment with a total capital of VND516.9 trillion, up 3.5% in number of enterprises and up 6.4% in capital.

Each enterprise had a registered capital of VND9.9 billion on average, up 2.8%.

Including the VND902.2 trillion of increased capital of ongoing enterprises, the total registered capital added to the economy in the first five months of the year was VND1.419 quadrillion.

In addition, 13,267 enterprises resumed their operation during the period, down 1.4% from a year earlier, raising the total number of enterprises which the economy had in the five months to 65,600./.
