RS:One World Championships Hoi An and Vietnam Open Sailing tour opens

(CPV) - The Vietnam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation, Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the RS:One Class are hosting the 2017 RS:One World Championships, from June 9th to 14th in Hoi An, Vietnam.

As part of Quang Nam Heritage Festival, the activity is a really good opportunity for Vietnam to promote its huge potential in tourism to international friends.

Ninh Thuan province is the sole representative of Vietnam to compete in the windsurfing event, including two married athletes from Windsurfing Jibe’s Beach Club, Truong Ky Tai (31) and Tran Thi Kim Chi (27).

The RS: One World Championship Hoi An lures the participation of 57 athletes/coaches from 16 nations/territories, playing in four age-groups (men’s, women’s U22, champions, over 40 and over 50) along the beautiful white sand beach of the luxury Hoi An Boutique Resort, Central Quang Nam province.

Windsurfing fans will have the chance to see a performance from 2010 RS:X Female World Champion Blanca Manchon from Spain. China and the host Vietnam are both joining the games for the very first time, in preparation for the upcoming Asian Games 18 in Jakarta (Indonesia) next year.

In the Sailing session, as many as 55 sailors/coaches from 12 nations/territories are competing in six events, in which Vietnam sent nearly 20 athletes from sailing centers nationwide like Khanh Hoa, Da Nang and Binh Thuan.

RS:One is a multi generational, one-design, windsurfing board featuring an easy and light performing 7.8 rig./.
