(CPV) - Ly Hoang Nam and Trinh Linh Giang arrived in Kolkata (the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal) for the India F2 Men’s Futures tennis tournament on March 5th-11th, their first event after the traditional Lunar New Year festival.

Player Ly Hoang Nam
National No.1 Ly Hoang Nam, 21, from Tay Ninh province, who ranks 471 in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), is the only Vietnamese listed in the main round. In the singles event, he is the No.4 seed.

If he wins the tennis tournament, he will take home a car worth VND2 billion.

His teammate, also 21, from Hanoi capital (ATP ranks 1,506), will have to fight for an official berth from a qualification round.

They will remain in second-most populous country for the F3 (March 12th-18th) and F4 (March 19th-25th) tours.

To prepare for this tournament, Nam had spent two months practising and competing locally.

Practicing at Binh Duong club, he currently has 75 points and needs around 100 points more to be among the world’s top 300.

In 2018, he is scheduled to take part in some 20 global tournaments.

The Vietnamese doubles pair will return to Hanoi to compete in the Davis Cup (Group 3) next month./.
