The capital city Hanoi has won 15th spot on the world’s 25 best destinations for 2019 as voted by TripAdvisor's annual Traveler's Choice Awards.

TripAdvisor wrote: “The charming Vietnamese capital has aged well, preserving the old quarter, monuments and colonial architecture, while making room for modern developments alongside. Lakes, parks, shady boulevards and more than 600 temples and pagodas add to the appeal of this city, which is easily explored by taxi.”
The site recommended the Old Quarter, Vietnamese Women’s Museum and Vietnam Museum of Ethnology to first-time visitors.
London (the United Kingdom) surpassed Paris (France) to top the rankings determined by reviews and ratings over the past 12 months for hotels, restaurants and experiences. It was followed by Paris, Rome (Italy), Crete (Greece), and Bali (Indonesia).
Meanwhile, 2019 is the first year New York (the US) slipped from the Top 10 to 13th place.
