Over 1,000 ethnic minority artisans 'show off' at Street Festival

On the afternoon of December 11, at Water Drop Park, Kon Tum city, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism opened the Street Festival with the participation of more than 1,000 artisans from districts and cities of the province.

The program is part of the activities of the Culture - Tourism Week and the Gong and Xoang Festival of ethnic minorities in Kon Tum province in 2024.
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kon Tum province Nguyen Van Binh said that the Street Festival is an activity to show off colors, create a joyful and exciting atmosphere, attract the attention and response of the people of all ethnic groups in the province. This activity contributes to attracting tourists to Kon Tum, promoting and honoring the unique traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in particular, and the regional culture of Vietnam in general.
At the festival, more than 1,000 artisans, artists, students and ethnic minorities paraded through the main streets, from Giot Nuoc Park, through Phan Dinh Phung, Tran Hung Dao, Tran Phu streets and ending at Quang Trung Park.
Artisans and actors brought many unique art performances on the streets for people and tourists to admire. The main highlights were gong and xoang dances, performances of traditional musical instruments, puppetry, acting, stilt walking, lion and dragon dances, and Dancespost dancing.
In particular, with the participation of the An Giang Province Artisan Group, visitors witnessed the dances of the Khmer and Cham ethnic groups right in the Central Highlands, creating a diverse and rich cultural space, combining traditional and modern elements./.
