During the meeting, Mr. Khue appreciated the role and position of Granma newspaper, with a large number of publications of over 600,000 copies. Granma newspaper has an important role in giving orientation to Cuban people, reflecting the strong voice of the direction, policies and guidelines of the Cuban Party and State.

According to Mr. Khue, since the national reunification, Ho Chi Minh City has had 50 newspapers and hundreds of central and local press agencies. “Grasping the trend of digital technology, Ho Chi Minh City is rearranging press agencies so that the city's press develops more strongly, contributing to connecting the Party and local agencies with the people in a timely manner, thereby, having policies closer to the people.

In Vietnam, the Nhan Dan newspaper is the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and in Ho Chi Minh City, the Saigon Giai Phong newspaper is the mouthpiece of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. According to the orientation and direction of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on the orientation of Ho Chi Minh City, in the next 10-20 years, Ho Chi Minh City must become a developed city in the region. In particular, journalism must go beyond the region so that the information reaches the world level, bringing a good image in the world community, timely giving information to people and friends around the world to introduce Vietnam as a safe destination.

He also agreed that although the two countries are geographically distant, there are many similarities and Vietnam always respects Cuba's revolutionary journalistic cause. He wished Nhan Dan and Granma newspapers to continue to have a connection to exchange experiences and continue to successfully complete revolutionary journalism.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Arlin Alberty Loforte said that Nhan Dan Newspaper and Granma Newspaper signed a cooperation agreement to exchange experiences, thereby making an important contribution to consolidating and tightening the special friendship between the two countries of Cuba and Vietnam. She added that the name of the newspaper came from the boat named Granma that carried leader Fidel Castro and 81 other comrades to the coast of Cuba in 1956, launching the Cuban Revolution. The newspaper was a tool for leader Fidel Castro and the Cuban Communist Party to disseminate the Party's guidelines and policies to the Cuban people and the world. In 2023, the 50th anniversary of President Fidel Castro's arrival in Quang Tri province was marked, being the pride of the Cuban people.

Sharing about her feelings when coming to Ho Chi Minh City, she was very impressed with the development of the city and the delegation visited Cu Chi tunnels, where its members learned a lot from Vietnam about the heroic fighting to protect the country. She also said that in the process of digital transformation in journalism today, the two press agencies discussed how to make the newspaper known to more people and have more impact on society. In the face of bad news, the press has the duty to widely inform the people about the truth. Granma always strives to be the leading flag in the career of journalistic revolution. Through the visit, the delegation learned a lot from the working experiences of Vietnamese press reporters./.
