Japanese officials highly appreciate Vietnam's development achievements

Attending a concert to celebrate Vietnam's 77th National Day in Tokyo, Japanese officials affirmed that Vietnam's development has great significance for peace and prosperity in the region and the world.

On September 2, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan held a concert to celebrate the 77th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day in Tokyo, with the participation of Government officials, the National Assembly and some Japanese political Parties, together with diplomatic missions of many countries in Tokyo.

Speaking at the opening of the concert, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Vu Hong Nam reviewed some outstanding achievements in the process of building and developing the country of the Vietnamese people over the past 77 years.

According to Ambassador Vu Hong Nam, so far, Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 190 countries around the world, including strategic partnerships and comprehensive partnerships with 30 countries.

Besides, Vietnam also has economic partnerships with more than 230 countries and territories, and is a member of 15 free trade agreements (FTAs), including new generation FTAs.

Vietnam is also an active member of more than 70 important multilateral organizations and forums, including the United Nations, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Eurasian Economic Forum (ASEM).

Referring to relations with Japan, Ambassador Vu Hong Nam emphasized that in nearly 5 decades of diplomatic relations (since September 1973), Vietnam-Japan relations have developed strongly.

In 2014, Vietnam and Japan established a strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia. In 2023, the two countries will celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

The ambassador expressed his belief that Vietnam-Japan relations will "continue to develop strongly, firmly and substantively in the coming time".

On the Japanese side, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and the Justice Party sent congratulations to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam on the occasion of National Day.

The delegates highly appreciated Vietnam's development over the years, and affirmed that Vietnam's development has great significance for the peace, stability and prosperity of the region and the world.

As for the Japan-Vietnam relationship, the delegates said that the relationship between the two countries has developed in-depth in many fields, especially cooperation in defense, security, economy, cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy.

The comprehensive and extensive strategic partnership between the two countries is highly valued and promoted by the leaders of the two countries./.
