He made the statement during his reception for Yakabe Yoshinori, Japanese Consul General to Da Nang City, on April 21.
During the reception, Mr. Phuong said that the support of the Vietnamese Government and people for Thua Thien Hue is very practical and effective in the fields of urban development, health and socio-economic development.
At the meeting, the new Japanese Consul General to Da Nang Yakabe Yoshinori said that since January 1, the Japanese Consular Office in Da Nang was upgraded to the Japanese Consulate General in Da Nang, showing that the Japanese Government attaches great importance to the central region of Vietnam, including Thua Thien Hue.
Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori emphasized that, in his new position, he will make efforts to promote the exchange, investment and trade cooperation between Japan and Thua Thien Hue in particular, and the central provinces and cities in general, making a positive contribution to the development of the good cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan in the coming time.
The year 2023 will mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, therefore, the Japanese Consul General wished that Thua Thien Hue would coordinate with the Consulate General to have exchange programs towards the end of the year for this special occasion.
Previously, in November 2021, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue and Aeon Mall Vietnam Co., Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding on the decision to invest in a trade center in Thua Thien Hue. Currently, this enterprise is trying to complete the project and put the trade center into operation in 2023, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Quy Phuong wished Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori to be interested in introducing Japanese businesses to research, cooperate and invest in the province; as well as to continue to promote exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, education, tourism and health./.
