Overseas Vietnamese celebrate Vietnamese Doctors’ Day in Cambodia

The Vietnamese - Cambodian General Association and the Vietnamese - Cambodian Doctor Association in Cambodia organized a meeting on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day in Phnom Penh on February 27th.

At the meeting, Doctor Hoang Hoa, Deputy Head of the Vietnamese - Cambodian General Association and Head of Provisional Executive Board of the Vietnamese  - Cambodian Doctor Association, said that a year after its establishment (February 26th), the Association aims to not only connect Cambodian  - Vietnamese doctors but also organize voluntary charitable activities and the association has made certain contributions to taking care of community health.

The association has organized activities free of charge, such as communication about common medical education; health examination and consultation, granting medicines and injecting basic vaccines; and supporting overseas Vietnamese people who are in difficult circumstance.

In addition, it also examined and treated free of charge and presented gifts to Vietnamese and Khmer people in Takeo; coordinating with the Vietnamese - Cambodian General Association to support the charitable delegation of doctor Vo Hoang Yen to treat free of charge nearly 1,000 Vietnamese and Khmer people at the headquarters of the General Association; being a bridge and directly supporting domestic charitable delegations to examine, treat free of charge and present gifts to Vietnamese - Cambodian people.

At the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh and Head of the Vietnamese - Cambodian General Association Chau Van Chi congratulated the doctors on the Vietnamese Doctors’ Day and praised their contributions in taking care of the community’s health.

They supported the coming activities of the association, including electing an official executive board; developing more members and encouraging them to have various activities to connect doctors in locality, in Vietnam and foreign countries to operate more effectively; and contributing to protecting the community’s health, social activities and healthcare when working in Cambodia./.
