Hanoi is among Top destinations for summer travel

The US-based online marketplace Airbnb has announced its Top 10 destinations based on projected 2017 summer tourism demand, including Hanoi.

According to Airbnb, the number of room bookers in the capital during the summer through the service increased 161% over a year earlier.
The site said that Hanoi is attractive to holidaymakers thanks to historical relics, urban charm with a mixture of antique and modernity, and special cuisine. From the tourist attraction, travellers can easily move to Vietnam’s other hot spots.
Cuba’s Havana topped the list for the highest increase in room bookers this summer, at 840% compared to the same period of 2016. This result partially came from the loosening of US travel restrictions on Cuba, and many airlines opening new routes to the country.
Other destinations gaining double increase or more than are La Ciotat (France), Salou (Spain), Tainan (China), Levanto (Italy), Scarborough (the UK), Prince Edward (Canada), Destin (the US) and Rosarito (Mexico)./.
