The Vietnam Railway Corporation (VNR) will add about 50 trains in order to serve the increasing demand during the New Year 2019 holiday.

Specifically, on the north-south route, VNR will run 32 additional trains from Sai Gon to Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Quang Ngai and vice versa, with nearly 14,500 seats; including 12 Sai Gon - Nha Trang trains, 10 Sai Gon - Phan Thiet trains, 8 Sai Gon - Quang Ngai trains and two Sai Gon - Quy Nhon trains.
In the North, the corporation will arrange 16 additional trains from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Dong Hoi, Hai Phong, Lao Cai and vice versa. Notably, the railway sector will run 4 more Hanoi - Dong Hoi trains, 7 more Hanoi - Vinh trains, 3 more Hanoi - Thanh Hoa trains, one more Hanoi - Lao Cai train, and one more Hanoi - Hai Phong train.
