According to Travel+Leisure, Hoi An is a charming city with ancient roots, distinct architecture, a contagious energy, and arguably one of the best street food scenes on the planet.
Every year for its World’s Best Awards survey, the New York-based travel magazine asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe, and share their opinions on the top cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines and more.
Readers rated cities on their sights and landmarks, culture, cuisine, friendliness, shopping and overall value.
Hoi An received total score of 90.52 out of the total 100.
Other places following the ancient city among Asia’s Top 15 travel cities are Chiang Mai (Thailand); Kyoto (Japan); Udaipur (India); Luang Prabang (Laos), Ubud (Indonesia), Bangkok (Thailand), Jaipur (India), Tokyo (Japan), Siem Reap (Cambodia), Singapore, Kolkata (India), Seoul (the Republic of Korea), Taiwan (China) and Hong Kong (China).
Last year, the title of Best City in the World also belonged to Hoi An.
“The highlight of Hoi An is definitely its vibrant food scene, where there are a lot of restaurants that might just do one thing, but do it perfectly. The best way to eat your way through the city is by Vespa; join a food tour with Vespa Adventures and you won’t be disappointed,” said Travel+Leisure./.
