Hanoi develops green space combined with expanding walking space

The green space development project in combination with the expansion of walking space in Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi, is cooperation between the capital and France’s Ile-de-France region.

The consulting unit has introduced a plan to renovate the landscape of three main axes, affecting the development of trade and tourism in Hoan Kiem district, including the statue of King Ly Thai To with the square of the State Bank of Vietnam, Dien Hong flower garden with Government guesthouse and the Opera House square associated with Trang Tien street, Hang Khay street, and Hoan Kiem Lake.
Chairman of the Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee Pham Tuan Long said that the project aims to improve the quality of public space by focusing on bringing nature into urban space.
The promotion of the value of overarching vision towards heritage works is systematically studied in planning items and combined with artistic lighting to highlight key works in the district.
The project provides the city with tools to design public spaces that are specific to Hanoi, especially the French Quarter.
It will also embellish and upgrade Hang Khay - Trang Tien street in order to improve the architectural value of the street.
The project will be set up and submitted for approval in the third quarter of 2021 and developed in the fourth quarter of 2021./.
