Hanoi greets about 5,000 tourists in October 2021

Hanoi greeted some 5,000 visitors, mainly domestic visitors, in October 2021, due to loosening social distancing and allowing the opening of some services, reported the city Department of Tourism.

From October 14, Hanoi allowed a number of activities and services to reopen such as museums, parks, and accommodation facilities, so tourism activities have been restarted.

According to data at some tourist spots in the city, from October 15 to 18, Thu Le Park greeted 2,500 visitors, Ba Vi National Park welcomed about 500 visitors, and Tan Da tourist area received some 200 visitors.

This month, revenue from tourism is estimated at 14 billion VND, a year-on-year decrease of 98.8%.

From the beginning of the year, Hanoi only welcomed domestic tourists with 2.92 million arrivals, down 61% from the same period last year. Total revenue from domestic tourists reached 8.18 trillion VND, down 68% year on year.

For the whole year of 2021, Hanoi expects to greet about 4 million domestic tourists ( 53% of domestic tourists in 2020 and equal to 36% of the plan set out at the beginning of the year). Total revenue is estimated at 11.28 trillion VND ( 40% of total revenue in 2020 and equal to 23% of the plan).

Hanoi now has 3,722 accommodation establishments with 69,954 rooms; including 589 hotels ranked from 1 to 5 stars with 24,371 rooms; accounting for 15.8% of the total number of accommodation establishments.

Of which, 20 hotels were approved by the City People’s Committee as focused medical facilities serving the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic for immigrants. The average occupancy rate of 1- to 5-star hotels is estimated to reach 23%, down 7% compared to 2020./.
