Aiming to prepare for the recovery of tourism activities in the capital as the COVID-19 epidemic is coming under control, the Hanoi Travel Association and VGreen Sustainable Tourism Club are coordinating with Hanoi’s localities and other provinces and cities to develop tourism products suitable to the new situation.
Deputy Director of Hanoitourist Travel Company Le Hong Thai said that the firm has built 5 groups of tourism products to be ready for the recovery of the tourism industry, such as: safe homestay, safe hotel, safe caravan, safe fall travel, and safe MICE service.

Notably, a tour of discovering the Indochina architecture will be launched in the near future, offering tourists chances to discover the ancient French architecture in Hanoi Old Quarter with the itinerary including the Vietnam National Museum of History – Hanoi Opera House - Northern Palace historical relic.

“Besides the tours for Hanoi, travel agencies continue to maintain caravan products that have been made since 2020 to explore the Northwest, Hung Temple, Nam Dinh and some new caravan products to discover Hoa Lu ancient capital in Ninh Binh province, Sa Pa in Lao Cai, Binh Lieu and Quang Hanh in Quang Ninh, and Hoang Su Phi in Ha Giang. To ensure safety, the tours will be organized in small groups, by private means, with short trips mainly lasting for 3 days and 2 nights,” said Thai.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu said that the move is a practical activity in response to World Tourism Day 2021, with the theme "Tourism for Inclusive Growth".

He stressed that service providers, authorities and management agencies should closely coordinate to prepare for the resumption of tourism activities. Although a series of tourism products connecting Hanoi with Quang Ninh, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Dien Bien and Phu Tho were implemented in 2020 with safety criteria; the tourism recovery will face many difficulties, thus, strategies and conditions should be changed to suit the “new situation.”

“Green tourism products, safe travel routes, safe stay, safe entertainment - and safe visitors need to be implemented properly and methodically. If they do not ensure safe conditions for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, they will not be allowed to operate,” added Hieu.

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the unit has developed a tourism recovery scenario suitable for the new situation. The department plans to connect “green tourist spots” with the participation of “green travel businesses” to carry out “green tourism journeys” for tourists fully vaccinated against COVID-19./.
