Over 5 million tourists visit HCM City in first two months

(CPV) – Ho Chi Minh (HCM) city greeted more than 676,565 international tourists and over 4.6 million domestic tourists in the first two months of 2023, fulfilling 13% of the year’s plan, according to the city Department of Tourism.

Total tourism turnover in the 2 months reached an estimated 21.23 trillion VND, a year-on-year rise of 62.3%.
According to the Department of Tourism, in February, the city continues to exploit and promote the tourism strengths of Thu Duc city, and districts associated types of tourism which are their potential strengths. This has contributed to diversifying tourism products, creating attraction for domestic and foreign tourists when choosing the southern city as a destination.
Aiming to attract more tourists in the coming time, the city tourism industry will focus on perfecting the policy of developing MICE tourism; completing the plan to develop waterway tourism products; developing cultural and historical tourism products, night travel, agro-tourism, and eco-tourism in association with the implementation of the new-style rural areas construction program.
It continues to sign cooperation agreements on inter-regional tourism development with other localities.
Besides, the hub continues to promote various types of tourism in the localities; and focus on effectively implementing tourism activities and events such as the 9th Ao Dai Festival; the 19th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival and the first River Festival./.
