Tighter COVID-19 prevention measures needed in tourism activities

(CPV) - The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) has issued an official document asking for tighter measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in tourism activities.

Under the Document, the VNAT asked tourism management departments, tourism businesses nationwide to regularly update information on the direction of the Government, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, People’s Committees of provinces and cities and functional agencies on the prevention and control of the disease.
The administration also requested strict implementation of Official Document 165/BVHTTDL-TCDL dated January 15, 2021 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on ensuring safety of tourism activities during the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2021. It asked People’s Committees of provinces and cities to monitor vehicles which are not eligible for tourist carriage.
In addition, tourism management departments and tourism businesses must strengthen popularization and guide tourists and workers to comply with disease prevention measures to ensure safety and health for tourists and staff./.
