Tourist destinations to gradually reopen to international visitors

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a Plan for carrying out policies to stimulate demand and recover tourism and travel activities.

The plan aims to realize Resolution 63 of the Government on key tasks and solutions for economic growth, disbursement of public investment capital and sustainable export in the rest of 2021 and the beginning of 2022.

Accordingly, the plan focuses on ensuring safety for tourists at destinations; strengthening communication and tourism promotion; developing diversified products to meet the new trends of the market; accelerating the digital transformation process in the tourism industry; supporting businesses to boost recovery of tourism activities; and supporting  the development of human resources to meet the requirements of tourism recovery.

The Ministry will pay attention to prioritizing the rapid and effective promotion of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign for people and workers at tourist centers. Destinations and tourist service establishments must implement measures to ensure safety and improve their capacity of preventing and controlling COVID-19.

In addition, the tourism industry will pilot the safe welcoming of international visitors in Phu Quoc Island (Kien Giang). The move will be gradually carried out at other destinations, including: Ha Long (Quang Ninh), Hoi An (Quang Nam), Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), and Da Lat (Lam Dong)./.
